Entrepreneur, philanthropist, songwriter and drummer Ken Freirich is the founder and CEO of Better World Records. A silver lining of the COVID-19 pandemic for Ken was the inspiration to start Better World Records and the music group Random Acts of Kindness to share his mission, lyrics, messages and songs with the world. “Healthcare Workers Rock!” was the first track released by Better World Records and gained significant attention for its impact on healthcare workers.
Random Acts of Kindness’s next single, Free to Roam with powerful messages of freedom, liberation, self-expression, and empowerment, became a Billboard AC and Mediabase Top 20 hit. The video for Free to Roam was produced using real life experiences and showing the transformations of four people, highlighting their challenges as well as their liberation.
“I Wish” was performed live for the very first time at horse racing’s prestigious Breeders’ Cup World Championships by the San Diego Children’s Choir in front of a packed house of 50,000 people. It is a song that brings people together, encourages acceptance, addresses basic human dignity, rights and needs, and helps spread hope, peace, kindness and understanding around the world. It is a series of wishes with a call to action to improve humanity.
Building upon the tremendous feedback and success from its live debut, Ken decided to continue to use the most powerful voices on earth, children from war torn countries, to deliver these deep, meaningful, world changing lyrics and music. Random Acts of Kindness partnered with the African Children’s Choir, recorded the track and filmed in Uganda. The video has gone viral and now has over 35 million views on YouTube and across social media.
“I Wish” has been described by the media as reminiscent of John Lennon’s “Imagine” for its simplicity and powerful lyrics. It was designated as the official Earth Day song by the United Nations Commutech Group. Its Chairman, Andy Lin, said, “‘I Wish’ is a song for the world!”

During the pandemic, Ken felt a calling and wrote a song called “Healthcare Workers Rock!” aan anthem for healthcare workers created to give them the recognition they deserved and to help them through the long days and nights. It had a significant impact on healthcare workers and was very meaningful to them. I had a nurse cry when she was asked to be in the video, because it reinforced what a difference she’s making for so many. The song and the video are just what the doctor ordered, especially now as we enter what will possibly be the darkest days of the pandemic. We must now get this music therapy to every hospital around the world because it’s a boost that will keep our healthcare workers going.”
